Public officials returning from national or international assignments abroad, and Turkish citizens returning permanently after residing abroad for at least 24 months, may import a used private vehicle registered in their name for at least six months before entering Türkiye. The vehicle must not be more than three years old in its registration year. Customs duties and equivalent taxes are exempt; Special Consumption Tax and Value Added Tax remain payable. The taxable value is calculated from the submitted invoice after age and diplomatic deductions. Applications are personal and assessed as a family unit.
