People with orthopaedic disabilities affecting a hand, arm, foot or leg who hold the appropriate driving licence may import a specially adapted passenger vehicle for their own use. People who cannot drive because they have lost hand and foot function may import a specially equipped vehicle with a ramp or lift for use by relatives up to the third degree. Eligible vehicles are exempt from import taxes.
Imports may be completed in three ways:
- As a donation from a person residing abroad
- By transferring foreign currency abroad through a bank or in cash
- By transferring residence for citizens with physical disabilities returning permanently to Türkiye
